It was the last Wednesday evening indoor cycling class of the year at El Camino Y, so Dino made it a 2-hour special. I rushed over to the gym and signed up just in time. The class filled up soon afterwards.
I wasn't feeling great at the beginning of class, but I had planned on cranking it out anyway. Unfortunately, I had an Ailment. I won't get into details but let's just say that after thirty minutes, I had to leave class momentarily. I thought I'd only be gone for ten minutes, but those ten minutes turned into 15, then 20, ... I finally returned after 25 minutes. When I came back, Dino joked, "You owe me about 5 songs! You'll have to stay after class at 9:15PM to make up for it!"
By then, there was only just over an hour of class left and I really, really, wanted to finish. At that point, my Ailment had progressed such that I couldn't even sit down in the saddle. No worries, I thought to myself, I'll just stand for the rest of class. That worked for a little while, but I couldn't focus on cycling because my Ailment increasingly bothered me. After 20 minutes, head hung in shame, I left class. I specifically told Dino I wasn't feeling well in case he thought I didn't like his class, and promised to see him again next year.
