This section of my website used to be dedicated to triathlon training, personal race results and certification reviews, like Turbo Kick. I am expanding it to include more generic health & fitness topics. Also, I talk a lot about "D" -- he's my husband (Dave Liu)!

Turbo Kick Round 12

So far, I've taught Turbo Kick Rounds 16, 15, 14, 13, 11 and 12 and in that order. I've really enjoyed the rounds to date, with the exception of R12. It's funny, because I just read a thread on Turnstep BoxAerobics message board where instructors were raving about how it was their favorite round. The choreography is okay, not bad, but not great either. I think I am indifferent to this round because I don't enjoy the music as much. Sure, there are some popular tunes by Brittany Spears and Pink, but there are also a bunch of instrumental stuff that I don't recognize or care for. I've taught R12 twice so far, and I'm already ready to move on.

It didn't help that I was teaching tihs round tonite with 80% of my voice gone. I ended up turning up the mic volume, and turning down the music volume. It helped a bit, but I shouldn't have taught at all. But it was too late for me to find a sub, and I figure that I would be able to muddle through. That I did, but I felt like crap later.

Back to the R12 issue... I hope that this round isn't an indication of the quality of the even earlier rounds that came before it. I don't think it's the case because R11 is one of my favorites. I've started reviewing R10 and at least the music is more promising than R12. I just hope the combos are decent too.
